Key Responsibilities:
- Train, supervise, counsel, and motivate the kitchen team to ensure high-quality production and minimize waste.
- Assist in implementing menus and developing innovative and creative cuisine for our dining rooms and banquet functions.
- Control production, quality, and waste to achieve outstanding guest satisfaction and improved consistency.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to increase covers and revenues in our food service outlets.
- Develop and maintain a team environment that fosters open communication, respect, and a positive work culture.
- Partner with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, menu development, and culinary best practices to maintain our reputation for excellence.
Requirements:
- 3 years of Pastry experience, a Culinary Degree, and/or accompanying professional managerial experience in the hotel and restaurant industries.
- Thorough knowledge of all cooking aspects of Pastry operations and American regional cuisine.
- Progressive track record with hotel, resort, and restaurant organizations.
- Proven record of culinary accomplishments and recognition within the industry.
- Excellent leadership skills, dynamic personality, and passion for operations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and partnering skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain a team environment, with a strong sense of commitment and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Long-term commitment to the Colonial Williamsburg Company, its management, and the culinary and Food and Beverage teams.
- Ability to maintain a strong sense of accountability, listen to and respect opinions of others, and take action to improve the well-being of employees.
