Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Project Controls Manager plays a crucial role in managing and delivering all project control outputs as mandated by contractual obligations and client expectations. This role supervises Cost/Schedule Engineers who operate in the field and requires a solid understanding of project control functions. A comprehensive grasp of both scheduling and cost management is essential for success in this position. The Project Controls Manager will report directly to the Program Manager and act as the primary liaison for all client Project Controls personnel. Regular site visits are necessary to conduct jobsite assessments and collaborate with field teams.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce program-level methodologies for scheduling, forecasting, cost management, progress tracking, and reporting (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Evaluate all reports and take ultimate responsibility for all cost/schedule documentation submitted to clients.
  • Execute all responsibilities of the Cost/Schedule Engineer role.
  • Supervise and guide Cost/Schedule Engineers in the field, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits to perform jobsite assessments and engage with field personnel.
  • Guarantee the quality and precision of project control outputs.
  • Collaborate with client Project Controls personnel, serving as the main point of contact.
  • Create comprehensive project schedules that encompass activities, milestones, resources, and timelines.
  • Track and manage project advancement and expenditures, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Compile and present project control reports to the Program Manager and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in project controls within the oil and gas construction sector.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling and cost management functions.
  • Experience leading a team of 13 individuals.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to conduct jobsite assessments and collaborate with field personnel.
  • Thorough understanding of project control outputs and requirements.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in field-based project control roles.
  • Familiarity with project control processes and industry best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
