Join a Transformative Organization
Palantir is at the forefront of developing the premier software for data-centric decision-making and operational excellence. Our platforms enable partners to create life-saving solutions, anticipate supply chain challenges, and assist in critical societal issues.
Your Contribution
Our products play a vital role in high-stakes environments, including defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors. We are entrusted by our clients to safeguard their essential information against sophisticated threats. The Security Infrastructure team is dedicated to constructing platforms and software that empower our products and teams to deliver unparalleled assurance to our clientele. This position offers extensive influence, significant autonomy, and the necessary resources to implement impactful security enhancements throughout Palantir. Successful candidates will exhibit curiosity, determination, and a commitment to excellence in security engineering.
Palantir contends with a variety of adversaries, including hacktivists, criminal organizations, and state-sponsored actors. The infrastructure you will oversee is integral to our global information security strategy, designed to identify and counter these threats. As a Security Infrastructure Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and managing multiple, geographically dispersed Kubernetes clusters that support our mission-critical software, operating in both cloud and isolated environments.
  • Overseeing extensive, distributed security information and event management systems that process vast amounts of security data daily.
  • Managing security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) systems.
  • Maintaining data and telemetry pipelines, ensuring the ingestion of data from numerous sources to empower our network defenders. Keeping these pipelines efficient, secure, and timely is crucial for our detection and investigation processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Infrastructure team to sustain, operate, and enhance multiple high-performance, large-scale Kubernetes and application clusters.
  • Work alongside other InfoSec teams to guarantee that collected data and telemetry are precise, actionable, and provide substantial security benefits.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor data pipelines to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate security information for network defenders.
  • Support detection and investigation workflows through query development, dashboard creation, training, and the introduction of new capabilities.
  • Ingest, enrich, transform, and analyze data within Palantir Foundry to derive valuable security insights and enhancements.
What We Value
  • A strong analytical mindset with a passion for resolving technical challenges using distributed computing, coding, data pipeline tools, and monitoring frameworks.
  • The ability to independently manage projects while balancing competing priorities and effectively collaborating with team members.
  • Experience with public cloud service providers (e.g., Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure) and modern deployment technologies (e.g., CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Proficiency in a contemporary scripting or programming language, preferably Python, or similar scripting languages.
What We Require
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a preference for multi-cloud and Kubernetes operational experience at scale.
  • At least 3 years of substantial security experience managing a complex Splunk Enterprise cluster.
  • Active US Security clearance or the willingness to obtain one.
