A Day in the Life

We are in search of a skilled Operations Engineer to join our Infrastructure Operations team. We manage the entire production infrastructure of the company, handling millions of requests per second and processing vast amounts of data daily, all while ensuring seamless operation without interruptions.

As a team member, you will collaborate with a select group of software and systems engineers to construct AppLovin's highly scalable and dependable infrastructure and computing platform utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.

We are looking for a proactive Operations Engineer who enjoys identifying and addressing critical issues related to stability, observability, and scalability, and is motivated to quickly gain a comprehensive technical understanding of new areas.

Who You Are
  • At least 2+ years of experience as a systems administrator, DevOps engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
  • Practical knowledge of Linux; while not required to be a kernel developer, a deeper understanding of its workings is essential
  • Proficient in navigating Bash, Terraform, Python, and/or Chef
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes clusters in production settings
  • Familiarity with GCP or other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Expertise in troubleshooting issues across the stack, including networking, performance, hardware, or memory-related problems
  • Willingness to participate in week-long on-call rotations
Additional Strengths
  • Experience or willingness to engage with complex database systems of various types (relational, data warehouses, key-value stores)
  • Experience with highly available large-scale distributed systems
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java
  • Experience in running and debugging GPU workloads
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
