Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient arrivals and departures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Handle patient calls and inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, updating insurance and billing information as needed.
  • Perform point-of-service activities, including collecting copays and recording accurate information.
  • Communicate with patients regarding wait times and potential issues, keeping managers informed.
  • Issue referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as required, following established protocols.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements and billing procedures.
  • Validate patient demographic and insurance information, registering new patients into the EMR system.
  • Record receipts accurately, participating in cash reconciliation and end-of-day reconciliations.
  • Resolve work queues and issues from front-end reports, prioritizing recovery of missing charges.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  • Adapt to new processes and engage in practice operation changes as needed.
  • Perform Access Center responsibilities, including coordinating clinical and administrative aspects of new patient scheduling encounters.
