Job Summary

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supporting the delivery of high-quality care, and assisting in meeting or exceeding patient satisfaction and financial/operational targets.

This position assists the manager and/or physicians in overseeing the daily schedule and operations of an assigned area/group, serving as the APM expert and liaison between staff and Managers/Physicians to ensure daily performance expectations are communicated and met.

In the absence of the manager, the Patient Services Coordinator may take on additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure self and assigned area(s) are compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  2. Manage the day-to-day planning, operations, and problem-solving for assigned areas, ensuring daily schedule, staffing needs, and performance metrics are met.
  3. Communicate changes appropriately.
  4. Develop and maintain APM templates and master schedules.
  5. Oversight of AHIQA, running regular financial reports, and working towards reconciliation.
  6. Resolve work queues and/or issues from front-end reports, proactively prioritizing recovery of missing charges.
  7. Generate/run reports to monitor and coach real-time performance against pre-established expectations/metrics.
  8. Act as the communication link between the group and management, disseminating information to the group and forwarding information back up to management.
  9. Effectively work with manager and providers to establish, implement, and maintain practice policies, procedures, and efficient systems that support daily operations.
  10. Assist staff in resolving difficult patient situations or complaints.
  11. Participate in the interviewing process and oversee the training of new hires.
  12. Perform surgery scheduling, as needed/required by the practice.
  13. May provide administrative support to physicians or manager(s).
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 3+ years Medical office experience
  • Advanced degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's) may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Must successfully complete/pass EMR training/tests upon hire
