Compensation:
The hourly pay rate for this position is $32.12.

Position Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing various mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and perform troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems to identify necessary repairs. Estimate time and material costs for assigned tasks.
  • Dismantle equipment to access and repair defective components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices. Reassemble and test equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect flow meters, gauges, and related controls, diagnosing operational issues and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, including pumps, engines, and generators, and report any operational issues to the supervisor.
  • Fabricate devices and assemblies from steel and perform welding, threading, and soldering as required.
  • Calibrate portable instruments for various measurements, including dissolved oxygen and pH levels.
  • Carry out facility maintenance tasks, including the replacement of damaged fixtures and cleaning of equipment and grounds.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Support training for new or less experienced maintenance staff as needed.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily operates in an industrial environment.
  • May be exposed to outdoor conditions and inclement weather.
  • Travel may be required for training purposes.
  • May participate in a rotational emergency on-call schedule.
  • Potential Hazards: Exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, noise, and various operational hazards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of various equipment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
Certifications:
  • Required water/wastewater license as per regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Completion of safety and operational training.
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Close visual and auditory observation skills.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces.
