We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Diesel Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Identify and repair root causes of basic failures and conditions, and perform repairs as required.
  • Ensure equipment is properly licensed and registered before it is deemed roadworthy.
  • Document all work orders and repairs through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers, and inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Train and provide guidance to other mechanics as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire and wheel, air and air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair.
  • Experience in refrigeration and a strong understanding of diesel engine systems.
