Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other systems
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers and other electronic components
  • Inspect and maintain brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components
  • Train and mentor other mechanics to ensure high-quality work and efficient workflow
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire and wheel, air and air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair
  • Experience with refrigeration systems and equipment a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
