Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Plant Accounting team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and upholding compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed journal entries and reconcile complex general ledger accounts within the department's purview.
- Develop and analyze insightful accounting reports for internal distribution and reporting purposes. Prepare spreadsheets to facilitate analytical information gathering.
- Establish and maintain robust account information systems that provide a readily accessible database of records, departmental transactions, releases, and other relevant information, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members on complex transactions and reconciliation issues.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including supporting schedules, balance sheets, general ledgers, and other crucial financial records encompassing cash flow, plant payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
- Contribute to the achievement of Accounting and Finance goals by actively participating in the development of forecasts for high-risk areas such as bad debt reserves and revenue recognition.
- Identify key factors influencing profitability, particularly concerning significant reserves, and ensure effective communication with leadership regarding any recommended changes in methodology.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors on audit matters related to revenue recognition and the management of significant reserve accounts.
- Oversee the quality assurance of analytical work performed within business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency of methodologies, and proper documentation of procedures in accordance with corporate internal control guidelines, GAAP, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Stay abreast of industry and economic trends and assess their potential impact on business revenue, sales prospects, and customer requirements.
