Position Summary

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering technical support to the organization, focusing on client computing, application assistance, server upkeep, database management, business continuity, and project oversight. This role will report directly to the IT Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve end-user computing issues as they arise.
  • Install, maintain, and repair network cabling and switching for both telecom and data systems.
  • Manage the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of computer and office equipment, including desktops, laptops, scanners, printers, televisions, projectors, and fax machines.
  • Provide backup support to network and database administrators.
  • Collaborate with users, consultants, and software vendors to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported or identified issues.
  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new or modified computing functionalities for core business systems throughout the organization.
  • Develop, document, and maintain processes and procedures related to the utilization and availability of computing systems and data repositories to ensure maximum accessibility for business operations.
  • Organize, schedule, and lead activities associated with IT projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay updated with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in computer science or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Job-Specific Knowledge:

  • Experience in deploying and maintaining efficient LANs for data, VOIP, and video transmission, including evaluating network performance and bandwidth utilization.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within multiple teams to complete assigned tasks within expected timeframes.

Must be able to:

  • Engage in activities including bending, stooping, standing, and walking.
