Position: Technical Specialist – Resiliency Coordinator

Garud Technology Services, Inc. (GARUD) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Technical Specialist with expertise in Resiliency to enhance our support for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Department of Homeland Security. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced technical guidance on specialized subjects pertinent to the project.
  • Facilitate strategic coordination support to FEMA at both headquarters and regional levels, particularly in relation to Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Direct Technical Assistance (DTA) initiatives.
  • Enhance the BRIC DTA initiative by effectively leveraging existing resources across FEMA Resilience, including various branches within the Hazard Mitigation Divisions and other federal agencies.
  • Optimize resource allocation to improve effectiveness in risk analyses, risk management, risk communication tools, engagement strategies, and recovery information.
  • Collaborate closely with FEMA stakeholders to ensure the efficient execution of BRIC DTA initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise to communities, state and local governments, and other stakeholders regarding infrastructure resilience and disaster mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of program initiatives, policies, and procedures related to infrastructure resilience.
  • Monitor project performance and outcomes, preparing reports that document technical assistance activities and evaluations.
  • Contribute to program assessments and continuous improvement efforts based on feedback and lessons learned.
  • Support the delivery of key project outputs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in coordinating resources across related organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Comprehensive understanding of FEMA policies, guidelines, and programs related to disaster mitigation, particularly BRIC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Specific experience supporting FEMA or similar emergency management agencies.

Work Environment: This position offers a hybrid work schedule with expectations for in-office reporting.

Citizenship and Security Clearance:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to successfully complete a DHS Background Investigation.
