As a Technical Solutions Consultant (TSC), you will serve as a technical advisor to various clients within the Department of Defense (DOD). Your role is crucial in assisting customers in identifying the right solutions to address their technological challenges through mission-aligned strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

The Technical Solutions Consultant is tasked with achieving remarkable objectives by promoting World Wide Technology's extensive range of products from multiple Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, and VMware. In collaboration with a skilled Client Manager, you will establish consultative relationships as the technical liaison. Your primary focus will be on expanding WWT's service capabilities, from deployment services to post-deployment strategic staffing. This position is primarily based in the National Capital Region (NCR) and will involve mostly local meetings, with potential travel up to 25%.
  • The TSC is a highly proficient, customer-centric technical sales professional dedicated to supporting Defense Agencies with solutions from Cisco, Ciena, Nokia, Juniper, and other infrastructure providers.
  • The TSC offers advanced to expert-level technical insights in at least one specialization and provides design and implementation guidance to one or more clients in a dedicated manner.
  • The TSC holds direct technical accountability for specific opportunities and accounts, leveraging knowledge across a broad portfolio as well as their technical specializations. They collaborate with Account Manager(s) on strategic, large, and complex opportunities and coordinate additional resources (e.g., technical specialists, ATC labs) to recommend, develop, and propose suitable customer solutions and service offerings.
  • The TSC operates in a highly effective and consultative manner, being regarded as a trusted advisor by the account team, partners (OEMs), and clients at the technical and managerial levels.
  • The TSC fosters and maintains relationships with customer technical staff, identifies opportunities, and develops solutions aligned with their understanding of the customer's mission and support requirements, while also taking a lead role in mentoring team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical proficiency across multiple technologies and/or solutions (e.g., CCNP, JNCP, or equivalent).
  • Preferred: 7-10 years of progressive experience in a federal or military IT or Transport field, as a Technical Specialist, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
  • Preferred: 3-5+ years of field technical sales experience as a Systems Engineer or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; DoD clearance is preferred.
  • Preferred experience supporting DISA, JSP, and/or Military Departments.
  • Technology focus areas in Transport, Optical, and MPLS networks are preferred.
