With a comprehensive understanding of the various disciplines within Special Education, Tx-Star is uniquely positioned to facilitate effective partnerships between our contract service providers and the diverse student populations they serve.

As we expand our collaborations with Texas schools, we are actively seeking qualified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our dedicated team.

Our SLPs are essential in delivering exceptional speech and language therapy services to students from preschool through high school.

The SLP will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address students' communication needs, promoting their active engagement in educational programs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough evaluations to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Utilize a range of diagnostic tools and methodologies to accurately assess student needs.
Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Development:

Create, implement, and modify IEPs or 504 Plans for students with speech and language challenges, ensuring that objectives are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.


Therapy and Intervention:

Deliver direct therapy services in educational settings, employing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and related disorders.

Engage students in targeted activities and exercises designed to alleviate their impairments.

Collaboration and Consultation:

Partner closely with educators, parents, and other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to implement comprehensive support strategies for students.

Provide training and guidance to school staff and families to foster speech and language development.

Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain precise and confidential records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about the latest research, tools, and techniques in speech-language pathology. Engage in professional development opportunities and integrate new knowledge into practice.
Monitor student progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to support their growth and development.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and team members to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on goals and strategies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports.
Flexible part-time, full-time, on-site, and hybrid opportunities are available.
Caseload includes students from Pre-K to 12th grade.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
New graduates are encouraged to apply; supervision can be provided.
Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of federal and state special education laws.

Experience with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.

Familiarity with Special Education principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and other school personnel, as well as parents of students.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various school locations as needed.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in speech-language pathology and special education.
Bilingual - Spanish language skills are highly valued.
