Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning and execution of production operations, ensuring that our objectives for production efficiency, quality assurance, and cost management are met. Your role will involve prioritizing production schedules in accordance with delivery commitments, equipment performance, and material availability. Furthermore, you will oversee the recruitment, management, and development of staff to optimize production processes while formulating schedules and staffing strategies for specific areas. This position entails providing direct supervision to nonexempt employees, ensuring all supervisory responsibilities align with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure departmental achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets while maintaining budgetary constraints and high-quality standards.
  • Assist in assessing plant capacity, equipment needs, and spatial requirements to fulfill current and future production objectives.
  • Establish work schedules and manage overtime, resource allocation, and machine operation while resolving issues as they arise.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing production line efficiency.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors and managers to evaluate the status of ongoing projects.
  • Compile and present production reports.
  • Maintain availability for evening and weekend shifts as necessary to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Provide leadership to team members, including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and addressing employee concerns.
  • Coordinate with other shifts to ensure effective production transitions.
  • Analyze production activities and recommend or implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Facilitate cross-training initiatives based on business requirements.
  • Track daily metrics of production goals versus achievements; analyze discrepancies and document underlying causes.
  • Lead 6S initiatives within designated departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (A.S.) from a two-year college (preferably in Electronics); Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Adhere to all import/export regulations, consulting with facility personnel as necessary.
  • Basic understanding of ISO and/or AS9100 standards.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (design, analysis, ERP/MRP, etc.).
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with 5S implementations.
  • Proven track record of leading Gemba and Kaizen events.

Salary Range:

$74,800.00 - $99,880.00

The anticipated salary range for this position is an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be determined based on various factors, including location, education, work experience, key skills, and job type.
