Job Opportunity: Sexual Justice Advocate Internship

National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Sexual Justice Advocate Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing work of defending human dignity and combating sexual exploitation.

As a Sexual Justice Advocate Intern, you will be responsible for researching, drafting, and editing content that raises awareness about sexual exploitation issues. This will include creating articles, blog posts, and social media content to support NCOSE's mission in eradicating sexual exploitation and promoting a culture of dignity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for opposing sexual exploitation, excellent writing skills, and the ability to use various writing styles and voices/tones. They will also be willing and able to learn new technological skills and be open to feedback.

NCOSE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing the links between all forms of commercial sex: pornography, prostitution, stripping, and sex trafficking. Our team is passionate about creating a culture where all individuals can thrive without sexual abuse and exploitation.

This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in writing for a cause-driven organization and engaging in advocacy initiatives to address critical issues related to sexual exploitation.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and draft content on sexual exploitation issues
  • Edit and refine content to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Collaborate with the Communications & Campaigns Specialist to develop and implement content strategies
  • Assist in creating advocacy actions for individuals to contact legislators or corporations

Qualifications:

  • Passion for opposing sexual exploitation
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to use various writing styles and voices/tones
  • Willingness to learn new technological skills
  • Open to feedback

Compensation:

NCOSE internships are unpaid, but interns may be provided a small monthly stipend based on qualifications and hours in the office.

Schedule:

This position requires 24-40 hours per week. Candidates must be mostly available during NCOSE's office hours of Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm EST in order to coordinate with the team.

Location:

This internship is at NCOSE's office headquarters in Washington, DC.
