The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is a leading organization dedicated to combating sexual abuse and exploitation. About This Position

The Research Institute at NCOSE is focused on creating a diverse range of research and knowledge-based outputs to strengthen our foundation across all focus areas. As a Research Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to this work by utilizing your research analysis and writing skills. Your tasks may include conducting research and literature reviews, drafting research summaries and talking point documents, and assisting with coordination of special events.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and literature reviews on various topics related to sexual exploitation, including harms of pornography use, prostitution, and child sexual abuse.
  • Draft research summaries and talking point documents to support NCOSE's advocacy efforts.
  • Assist with coordination of special events, such as conferences and meetings.
  • Develop educational materials and PowerPoint presentations on topics related to sexual exploitation.
  • Write and edit content for NCOSE's blog, newsletter, and other publications.
  • Collect and organize research studies and other materials.
  • Represent NCOSE at events and meetings as directed.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in research and a keen eye for detail. You should be passionate about opposing sexual exploitation in all its forms and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also be able to work independently and be deadline-oriented. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is a plus.

Compensation

NCOSE internships are unpaid, but you may be eligible for a small monthly stipend based on your qualifications and hours worked.

Schedule

This position requires 24-40 hours per week, and you must be available to work during NCOSE's office hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm EST.

Location

This internship is based at NCOSE's office headquarters in Washington, DC.
