Job Title: Development Associate

Global Labor Justice (GLJ) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to support the implementation of our strategic fundraising program. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting an equitable global economy through defending worker rights and building worker power.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Development Manager in drafting and mailing donation materials, including solicitations, donation acknowledgement letters, and receipts.
  • Assist in the collection of program updates necessary for fundraising activities, including giving requests, grant proposals, and reports.
  • Submit and monitor matching gift donations.
  • Provide writing and coordination support to the Development Manager on grant writing and grants management activities.
  • Respond to inquiries about gift giving and coordinate with team members as necessary.
  • Support the Development Manager in developing and implementing fundraising projects and programs.
  • Conduct prospect research to support the execution of the organization's fundraising strategy.
  • Stay current with fundraising trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrable skills in writing for both technical and general audiences.
  • Comfortable working under multiple deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across functional and operational lines.
  • Experience providing efficient, timely, and reliable support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working proficiency with a wide range of organizational technology, including Microsoft Suite, Slack, GSuite, Airtable, and CRM systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual, bi-cultural experience.
  • Experience working at a union or grassroots organization.
  • Knowledge of the funding space for advancing worker rights globally.
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid office environment at a global organization.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $65,000-$75,000 USD.
