Moving Center General Manager

Job Summary:

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our moving and storage center in Grove, Oklahoma. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fleet of equipment to deliver clean and well-maintained vehicles to customers.
  • Perform profit/loss analyses to optimize center performance.
  • Hire and mentor new team members to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Track and itemize inventory to maintain accurate records.
  • Manage the personnel budget to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care and service.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or a service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 pounds assisted or unassisted.
