Position Overview

The Senior Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing credit risk management within the organization. This role involves identifying potential risks, monitoring existing loans and debt instruments, and formulating strategies to mitigate these risks. Additionally, the Senior Credit Portfolio Manager will underwrite and enforce credit policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of credit products to meet growth, profitability, and risk objectives.
  • Analyze customer behavior and market trends to uncover opportunities for product enhancement and development.
  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle for assigned offerings, including design, pricing, promotion, and maintenance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on assigned products, providing strategic input on features and benefits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, taking necessary actions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and developments, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively manage risks associated with assigned products, collaborating with relevant parties to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports to senior management regularly.
  • Complete required training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience as a Credit Analyst, Portfolio Manager, or Commercial Loan Officer.

Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of economic theory as it pertains to lending, and expertise in credit and risk analysis. Familiarity with commercial and agricultural lending, as well as banking laws and regulations, is necessary.

Applicants should possess strong credit underwriting skills, with a proven ability to accommodate customer credit needs effectively. A track record of accuracy and thoroughness, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality, is crucial.

Experience with relevant software and systems is required, and certification in Credit Risk Management is preferred.

Work Environment

This position typically requires a standard workweek of 40 hours, with the expectation of additional hours as needed to meet goals. Travel may be required occasionally.
