Position Overview:
The Radiologic Technician competently executes both standard and specialized imaging procedures to generate high-quality diagnostic images for physicians and healthcare professionals. This role requires independent operation, utilizing sound judgment and refined clinical skills to conduct safe and accurate procedures, ensuring timely delivery of results. Building trust and cooperation with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members is essential through thorough patient evaluations, vigilant monitoring, and effective communication. Compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures is mandatory to maintain patient privacy and safety while providing exceptional care. The technician may also be tasked with specific procedures and assisting in the orientation of new staff members within the department.
Schedule: 3 days per week, with each shift lasting 8 hours. Hours may vary between 8 am and 9 pm.
Rotation: Travel to nearby PAMF locations may be required, including Mountain View, San Jose, Los Gatos, and Santa Clara.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (as per state regulations).
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire.
- RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy certification within 180 days of employment.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, and equipment, with experience in trauma response and hospital emergencies.
- Ability to perform routine radiographic examinations and a foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including those without medical backgrounds.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and adhere to established procedures and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related systems (Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC, and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)).
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Skill in identifying, assessing, and resolving standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
