Role Responsibilities:
This is a temporary engagement lasting 6 months. You will be tasked with conducting experiments and managing data logging and aggregation that will support interdisciplinary technical projects across various domains, including Microbiology, Chemistry, Electronics, Metallurgy, and Micro and Nano Technology. You will need to operate independently and adapt quickly to changing project needs. Your contributions will be crucial in advancing early-stage projects. The experiments you conduct, the tests you perform, and the data you gather will provide essential insights for decision-making regarding the future direction of these projects and their potential global impact.
Key Contributions:
- Efficiently execute experimental splits
- Propose subsequent steps in experimental processes
- Approach every interaction with a solution-oriented mindset
- Leverage your interdisciplinary knowledge to develop innovative concepts
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a laboratory technician in an industrial R&D setting
- Familiarity with various instruments and technologies, including:
- Electronic testing and measurement tools
- Liquid handling and biological sample preparation, both manual and automated
- Laboratory environmental equipment
- Analytical instruments such as microscopes and spectrometers
- Experience in chemical and materials handling
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems involving hardware and custom software
- A strong drive to resolve challenges
- Detail-oriented, data-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment
- Educational background: BS/MS/PhD in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Metallurgy, Micro and Nano Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bio Engineering, or related fields
- Willingness to work onsite in Mountain View, CA
- Proficient in data analysis
- Experience in an early-stage startup environment
- Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) in relevant fields with over 10 years of experience
