About the Role
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as Assistant Vice President, Research and Innovation for Sponsored Programs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for research and innovation, aligning with the Commonwealth's goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Sponsored Programs office, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior administrators, faculty, and staff to develop and implement research initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Recruit, retain, and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of research projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading research administration in a large, complex organization, with a deep understanding of federal, state, and private funding sources.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field or significant professional experience and certification.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, leadership, and team management, with a strong ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
