Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary leader to fill the role of Vice President for Research and Innovation, focusing on Sponsored Programs. This position will provide strategic guidance and administrative oversight for a robust research portfolio, supporting a diverse array of academic colleges and research institutes. As the Commonwealth aims for significant growth and impact, the Vice President will play a crucial role in advancing the mission of becoming a leading institution that addresses critical global challenges.
In collaboration with various stakeholders, the Vice President will spearhead the development and management of a comprehensive sponsored programs office. This office will encompass all aspects of research administration, including pre-award processes, contract negotiations, post-award management, and financial compliance. The office has successfully facilitated substantial funding proposals and awards, marking a significant impact on the research landscape.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in research administration within a large, multifaceted institution. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, strategic foresight, and the ability to foster collaboration among faculty, staff, and external partners. The Vice President will ensure adherence to compliance standards while promoting a culture of proactive service and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
