Job Title: Executive Sous Chef Events

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef Events to join our culinary team at Ensemble Arts Philadelphia.

Job Summary:

The Executive Sous Chef Events will be responsible for managing the culinary operations of events, including planning, preparation, and execution. This role will work closely with the Executive Chef/Director Event Sales to ensure that all events meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the culinary team to ensure that all events are executed to perfection.
  • Develop and implement menus for events, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of food for events, ensuring that all dishes are of the highest quality.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef/Director Event Sales to ensure that all events meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to ensure that the culinary team is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the culinary team's performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to ensure that events are executed to perfection.
  • Perform other duties as required or requested.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in upscale events, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor management, and bottom-line profitability.
  • Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, co-workers to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
  • Ability to manage and lead events of 250+ guests.
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
  • Able to train and motivate team, showcase effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of the kitchen by maintaining high standards in all areas of security, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
