Job Summary

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our network and computer operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and install hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with employees to discuss technical problems and provide solutions.
  • Assist employees in troubleshooting software, email, web, and other application issues.
  • Prioritize workload to ensure critical issues are resolved first.
  • Document common support procedures for employees to follow.
  • Provide remote support as needed.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and manufacturers to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory security groups and group policy objects.
  • Configure, optimize, and migrate shared user data from network attached storage and server-based file shares.
  • Manage Windows endpoint management, including image maintenance and updates via MECM/SCCM.
  • Manage print servers.
  • Perform other duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 36 months of experience in IT Help Desk, Client Support, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of different applications and systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve IT problems.
  • Knowledge of remote desktop applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment.
