Marine Preservation Specialist

As a Marine Preservation Specialist with International Marine and Industrial Applicators, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality preservation of commercial and US Navy vessels. This involves monitoring quality control/assurance requirements and collaborating with customer QA personnel to ensure compliance with established Navy regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs) for assigned jobs
  • Monitor and document required readings, including metal anchor tooth profile, paint wet/dry film thickness, and environmental readings
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in good working order and calibrated within certification intervals
  • Collaborate with customer QA personnel to ensure compliance with Navy regulations and industry standards

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • NACE Inspector and/or SSPC NBPI certification
  • Formal or informal on-the-job training in the marine industry
  • Familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards

Working Conditions:

Regularly stand for long periods of time, work on scaffolds and ladders, and work in confined spaces. Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, and close proximity to other employees.
