The Painter will assist in surface preparation, mixing of paint, application of coating, striping, and clean up. This role requires a willingness to learn and follow directions in the marine industry.

The successful candidate will work within OSHA requirements, comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules, and accurately operate and maintain equipment.

• Prepare surfaces for coating according to paint manufacturers' specifications
• Paint surfaces using approved methods and strip tanks in a productive and timely manner
• Mix paint as directed and work within OSHA requirements
• Comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations
• Accurately operate, clean, and maintain all assigned equipment
• Properly store equipment and dispose of empty paint and solvent cans
• Assist sprayers in pulling lines and follow directions promptly

The Painter will regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl at various heights and in confined spaces. They will occasionally sit and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The successful candidate must be able to follow clean shaven policy and wear a respirator to safely perform assigned tasks.

The Painter will regularly be exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, confined spaces, precarious places, and close proximity to other employees.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required to avoid injury. Overtime or shift work will be involved most of the time, and travel will be required.
