Job Summary:

The Harm Reduction Assessment Coordinator II is a critical role within the Drug User Health team at REACH, providing specialized expertise in harm reduction strategies to support individuals living outside who use drugs on their recovery journey. This position focuses on providing compassionate, non-judgmental support, utilizing motivational interviewing skills, to improve the well-being of clients within the context of harm reduction principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct substance use disorder assessment, intervention, and linkage to treatment services for REACH clients with specialization in navigating barriers and bridging gaps to care.
  • Consult with REACH staff on how to help clients access SUD treatment and other recovery support services.
  • Conduct street outreach to engage with individuals who may be hesitant to access traditional services.
  • Develop and maintain productive, respectful relationships with community stakeholders and other resources, including SUD treatment providers and recovery housing operators.
  • Identify gaps and barriers in available community resources and advocate for systemic changes that will facilitate easier access to care for individuals facing the most barriers.
Requirements:
  • Active Substance Use Disorder Professional License in Washington State required.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in work related to social work or outreach programs.
  • Experience providing services to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and addiction from a harm reduction perspective is essential.
