Job Title: Milieu Coordinator

Evergreen Treatment Services is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Milieu Coordinator to join our REACH team. As a key member of our Integrated Care team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of transforming systems of harm and inequity to create different approaches to improving community health and safety.

Job Summary:

The Milieu Coordinator will be responsible for welcoming clients into the REACH Milieu space and connecting them with the services/resources they are seeking. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize workload and activities of self and staff. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, think creatively, and demonstrate a commitment to racial equity and social justice.

Responsibilities:
  • Welcome clients into the REACH Milieu space and connect them with services/resources.
  • Develop rapport and trusting relationships with clients through respectful, person-centered engagement practices.
  • Orient new clients to the space(s) and facilitate client flow in and out of the space.
  • Monitor clients' activities inside the drop-in space and address any potential safety risks or violations of program rules and regulations.
  • Submit incident reports or other relevant documentation when appropriate.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking supply shipments for the Belltown location.
  • Assist police, fire, EMS, and all other emergency service providers in the performance of their duties while responding to or on ETS property.
  • Respond to all facility alarm activations, including security, duress, fire, and intrusion alarms.
  • Help implement systems to support clients in the milieu space with behavioral issues.
  • Support large client events and activities.
  • Operate oversized RV-style vehicle(s) as needed.
  • Attend ETS team meetings and other required meetings.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Undergraduate degree highly desirable.
  • Academic training in the social service highly desirable.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in work related to social work or outreach programs required.
  • Clear understanding of language differences between Spanish communication in Spain and Spanish communication in Latin America.
  • Strong knowledge of language and cultural differences amongst Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, and staff from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience providing services to addicted individuals from a harm reduction perspective preferred.
  • Experience with case management, homelessness, and co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
Physical Conditions and Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to illicit drug residues and fumes or other bio-hazardous materials when carrying out job functions. There is also potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens. ETS will provide employees with appropriate training to limit the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and kneel; occasionally to climb balance, or stoop; rarely to crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
