We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Power Systems Hardware Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high and medium power systems for our spacecraft, with a focus on high and low voltage distribution, and power regulation and conversion.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead high and low voltage, avionic designs that interact with electrical power consumers.
- Own the design, development, and testing of electrical power systems, from concept to production.
- Support power regulation and distribution architecture trade studies, analyses, and performance characterization.
- Participate in program-level technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives.
- Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.
- Familiarity with common communication methods, such as RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, or PCIe.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the electronic assembly product lifecycle.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Successful candidates typically have 5 to 10 years of experience in design, development, test, and operation of vehicle Avionics systems.
- Basic or better knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and how to apply this to designs targeting space applications.
- Demonstrated experience designing high reliability safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254 and similar standards.
