Job Overview:

The Executive Meeting Manager plays a crucial role in identifying, facilitating, and securing group and catering business opportunities, alongside executing events for designated full-service hotels. Management-level personnel are expected to dedicate their workday to fulfilling job responsibilities; for OEM associates, overtime is applicable and calculated accordingly.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in roles such as Sales Manager, Catering Sales Manager, or Sales Coordinator.
  • Proficiency in professional selling techniques is preferred, including skills in opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Experience in internet research and database management is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective negotiation, persuasion, and influence with managerial staff, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, is required.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously; strong organizational and presentation skills are vital.
  • A valid driver's license for the applicable state is mandatory.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, analytical thinking, a genuine approach, and strategic proactivity.
  • Possesses problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and contract interpretation skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in both individual and group settings to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competitive landscape within the market is advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets, along with solicitation call objectives.
  • Monitor and assess trends within the market segment.
  • Adhere to established regulations, company standards, and sales metrics.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations and departmental policies.
  • Follow proper event management protocols for event execution, including BEO creation, F&B forecasting, resume communication, and room block management.
  • Accurately produce and review all catering contracts and banquet/catering event orders.
  • Listen to and understand customer needs, responding appropriately.
  • Seek new business opportunities through creativity and innovation, identifying potential leads using various tools.
  • Evaluate the value of each business opportunity against hotel objectives during daily RevMax meetings.
  • Utilize yield management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments to enhance financial performance.
  • Leverage Revenue Management resources to make informed decisions and maximize revenue.
  • Understand revenue management principles, analyze trends related to pricing, and discuss their impact on hotel occupancy and revenue.
  • Comprehend competitors' sales strategies and tactics, effectively leveraging hotel strengths and addressing competitors' weaknesses.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhancement of sales systems.
  • Respond to all leads and RFPs within a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and timely internal communication within the hotel.
  • Conduct site inspections, local sales calls, and participate in relevant trade shows and client events.
  • Promote the hotel through active involvement in community and business networking organizations.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations as appropriate.
  • Attend required meetings and functions as directed by management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales.
