As the People Operations Manager, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture that embodies our core values, mission, and vision. You will manage a dedicated team of HR professionals responsible for all facets of the employee experience. Collaborating closely with the Director of People & Culture, you will merge strategic insight with practical execution to advance our employee-focused programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development:
  • Team Management: Inspire, mentor, and nurture a team of HR experts, offering direction and support to facilitate both individual and collective success.
  • Task Coordination: Clearly communicate responsibilities and expectations, prioritize team assignments, and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Performance Assessment: Evaluate and document team and individual performance, providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and formal reviews to encourage professional growth.
  • Issue Resolution: Tackle complex challenges escalated by team members, guiding them through problem-solving processes to address root causes.
  • Team Collaboration: Organize regular team meetings to ensure alignment, address concerns, and foster cooperation within the People Operations team.
Employee Relations:
  • Performance Feedback: Deliver proactive performance assessments, manage disputes, and implement disciplinary measures when necessary, focusing on resolution and improvement.
  • Investigative Processes: Conduct comprehensive investigations into employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes, and advising the Director of People & Culture on necessary actions.
  • Performance Oversight: Direct the performance management framework, including coaching, feedback monitoring, and overseeing corrective measures in line with established protocols.
Recruitment Strategies:
  • Workforce Planning: Direct staffing and recruitment strategies to fulfill organizational requirements, including job description reviews, position advertising, and equitable salary determinations.
  • Community Engagement: Forge strong partnerships with local organizations, staffing agencies, and businesses to maintain candidate pipelines and promote career opportunities at Rhino Foods.
Benefits Management:
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise the administration of employee benefit programs, including insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and employee perks.
  • Clear Communication: Ensure accurate and transparent communication regarding benefit options, procedures, policies, and changes to employees.
  • Wellness Initiatives: Lead wellness programs through education and implementation of health-focused initiatives.
HR Systems Management:
  • HRIS Management: Oversee HRIS functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, including payroll and benefits enrollment.
  • Data Utilization: Use HRIS data to support audits, analyze trends, and identify areas for enhancement, developing proactive solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement ongoing improvement opportunities within the HRIS, exploring new technologies and modules as they become available.
Compliance & Strategy:
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure consistent application of company policies to maintain fairness and equity across the organization.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed on employment laws and regulations, making recommendations to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  • HR Initiatives: Lead HR-related projects, collaborating with the Director of People & Culture and department leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
  • Training Programs: Manage training initiatives related to HR topics and best practices.
Cultural Development:
  • Program Implementation: Support the execution of employee programs, including training sessions, interest groups, and wellness activities that promote Rhino's culture.
  • Onboarding Support: Assist the People & Culture team in conducting new employee orientation, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and integrated.
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive and supportive culture for all employees through proactive relationship-building across teams.
  • Value Promotion: Uphold and advocate for Rhino's mission, principles, and vision, embodying our values and commitment to employee-centric practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in HR management is preferred.
  • Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/talent management systems.
  • A collaborative team player with a respectful attitude.
  • Ability to manage projects and facilitate change initiatives.
