As the People Operations Manager, you will spearhead initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture that embodies our core values and vision. Collaborating closely with the Director of People & Culture, you will combine strategic insight with practical execution to advance our people-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Team Development: Guide, mentor, and nurture a team of HR specialists, providing the necessary support to ensure both individual and collective success.
  • Task Coordination: Clearly communicate job expectations, prioritize team responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of all assignments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assess and document team and individual performance, offering ongoing feedback and formal evaluations to encourage professional growth.
  • Issue Resolution: Tackle complex challenges raised by staff, assist them in problem-solving, and ensure root causes are addressed effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Organize regular team meetings to maintain alignment, address concerns, and enhance cooperation within the People Operations team.

Employee Engagement:

  • Performance Feedback: Deliver proactive performance assessments, manage conflicts, and implement disciplinary measures when necessary, focusing on resolution and improvement.
  • Investigative Processes: Conduct comprehensive investigations into employee relations matters, ensuring equitable and consistent outcomes, and advise the Director of People & Culture on necessary actions.
  • Performance Oversight: Direct the performance management process, including coaching, feedback monitoring, and managing corrective actions as per established protocols.

Recruitment Strategy:

  • Staffing Initiatives: Oversee recruitment strategies to fulfill organizational requirements, including job description reviews, position advertising, and equitable salary determinations.
  • Community Partnerships: Establish strong connections with community organizations, staffing agencies, and other businesses to maintain candidate pipelines and promote career opportunities at Rhino Foods.

Benefits Management:

  • Daily Oversight: Manage the administration of employee benefit programs, including insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and employee perks.
  • Clear Communication: Ensure transparent and accurate communication regarding benefit coverage, procedures, policies, and changes to employees.
  • Wellness Initiatives: Oversee wellness programs through education and the implementation of health initiatives.

Plan Evaluation & Vendor Relations:

  • Benefit Plan Assessment: Lead the evaluation of benefit plans to determine effectiveness, competitiveness, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the financial budget related to benefits, workers' compensation, and other HR functions.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with benefit vendors and brokers to negotiate competitive pricing and assess service quality.

HR Information Systems:

  • HRIS Management: Supervise HRIS processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations, including payroll and benefits enrollment.
  • Data Utilization: Use HRIS data to support audits, analyze trends, and identify areas for enhancement, developing proactive solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek and implement ongoing improvement opportunities within the HRIS, exploring new modules and technologies as they become available.

Operations, Compliance & Strategy:

  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures to uphold fairness and equity throughout the organization.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed on employment laws and regulations, making recommendations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • HR Projects: Lead HR-related projects, collaborating with the Director of People & Culture and department leaders to align HR strategy with Rhino's strategic objectives.
  • Training Programs: Manage training initiatives related to HR topics and best practices.

Culture & Brand Advocacy:

  • Program Implementation: Support the execution of employee programs, including leading training sessions, employee interest groups, and wellness/social activities that promote Rhino's culture.
  • New Hire Orientation: Assist the People Operations team in facilitating new employee orientation activities, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and integrated into Rhino Foods.
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive and supportive culture for all employees through active relationship-building across shifts and departments.
  • Value Promotion: Uphold and advocate for Rhino's purpose, principles, and vision, embodying our values and commitment to employee-focused practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of HR management experience is preferred.
  • Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS and talent management systems.
  • A collaborative team player with a respectful attitude.
  • Ability to manage projects and facilitate change initiatives.
