Job Summary

As a key member of the Human Resources team at Marriott International, the Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the HR Office. This includes oversight of recruitment, total compensation, and training and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Hiring Process: Assist in the interviewing and hiring of Human Resource employee team members with the appropriate skills, as needed. Establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources. Attend job fairs and ensure documentation of outreach efforts in accordance with Human Resource Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Employee Benefits Administration: Work with the unemployment services provider to respond to unemployment claims; reviews provider reports for accuracy and corrects errors. Prepare, audit, and distribute unemployment claim activity reports to property management.
  • Employee Development: Support a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job. Ensure employees are cross-trained to support successful daily operations.
  • Employee Relations: Assist in maintaining effective employee communication channels in the property. Reviews progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency, and checks for supportive documentation and is accountable for determining appropriate action.
  • Legal and Compliance Practices: Ensure employee files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation, are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time. Ensure compliance with procedure for accessing, reviewing, and auditing employee files and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

Marriott International offers a competitive salary range of $64,000 to $83,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.
