Job OverviewPosition Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports To: General Manager
Department: Food & Beverage

Position Summary:

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is accountable for the comprehensive management and oversight of the front-of-house operations within the Food and Beverage department.


Supervision Received:

This role receives guidance from the General Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieving Operational Excellence: Ensure that operational goals are met in the lounge, restaurant, and catering services, focusing on:
    • Delivering knowledgeable, consistent, and engaging service.
    • Maintaining a clean and well-kept environment.
    • Upholding merchandising standards, including ambiance and presentation.
  • Staffing and Development: Ensure effective staffing results in both restaurant and catering through:
    • Recruiting, selecting, and scheduling a high-caliber team.
    • Providing thorough orientation, training, and ongoing development.
    • Conducting performance evaluations and offering on-the-job coaching.
    • Implementing appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Financial Management: Drive financial performance in the restaurant and catering by:
    • Increasing sales and guest counts annually.
    • Maximizing annual gross operating profit.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform essential administrative tasks, including:
    • Maintaining accuracy in the POS system.
    • Reporting safety hazards to the General Manager promptly.
    • Ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
    • Adhering to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships within the property and the broader community by:
    • Building strategic partnerships within the food, wine, and hospitality sectors.
    • Representing the restaurant positively at industry events and meetings.
    • Exhibiting professionalism at all times.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in high-quality food and beverage operations, including at least one year in a management role, along with a high school diploma. Additional qualifications include:

  • Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and thriving under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Problem-solving abilities and courteous interaction with staff and guests.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of POS systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to obtain necessary work permits.
