Job OverviewPosition Title: Food and Beverage Supervisor
Reports To: General Manager
Department: Food & Beverage

Position Summary:

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is accountable for the comprehensive management and oversight of front-of-house operations within the food and beverage sector.


Supervision Received:

This role receives guidance from the General Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieving Operational Excellence: Ensures that operational goals are met in the lounge, restaurant, and catering services, focusing on:
    • Providing knowledgeable, consistent, and engaging service.
    • Maintaining a clean and well-kept environment.
    • Upholding merchandising standards, including ambiance, table settings, and staff attire.
  • Staff Management: Responsible for staffing outcomes in both restaurant and catering, including:
    • Recruiting, selecting, and scheduling high-quality personnel.
    • Conducting thorough orientation and ongoing training for all staff.
    • Implementing performance evaluations and providing on-the-job coaching.
    • Administering appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensures financial objectives are met for both restaurant and catering, focusing on:
    • Increasing sales and guest counts annually.
    • Maximizing annual gross operating profit.
  • Administrative Duties: Responsible for various administrative tasks, including:
    • Maintaining the accuracy of the Point of Sale (POS) system.
    • Reporting potential safety hazards to the General Manager.
    • Ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
    • Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Relationship Management: Builds and maintains positive relationships within the property, community, and industry, including:
    • Strengthening alliances with food, wine, and hospitality partners.
    • Representing the restaurant positively at industry events and meetings.
    • Conducting oneself professionally at all times.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in high-quality food and beverage operations, with at least one year in a management role, along with a high school diploma. Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct employee activities.
  • Capability to develop effective working relationships with other managers.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Problem-solving skills and courteous interaction with staff and the public.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain necessary work permits.
