POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Engineering Project Specialist, you will be instrumental in advancing our additive manufacturing initiatives, ensuring effective execution from start to finish. This role entails reviewing incoming client requests, clarifying and updating specifications, and orchestrating the manufacturing workflow comprehensively. The selected candidate will maintain regular communication with clients and suppliers, fostering strong relationships. This position offers the chance to cultivate in-depth knowledge in materials science, manufacturing processes, contracts, and business development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and direct additive manufacturing projects from conception to delivery, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including design, manufacturing, materials, and quality assurance, to devise and implement additive manufacturing solutions.
- Generate and maintain project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and technical specifications.
- Engage with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to leverage expertise and resources for additive manufacturing projects.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry guidelines in additive manufacturing processes and products.
- Support client interactions by providing technical insights and addressing inquiries related to additive manufacturing capabilities and applications.
- Identify client requirements and internal gaps, proposing solutions to engineering and manufacturing management.
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to enhance production efficiency through ADDMAN group resources.
- Facilitate access to additional volume on existing programs through exceptional value and responsiveness.
- Support all phases of programs/projects from initiation to completion.
- Assist in the development of RFQ/RFP responses, coordinating the preparation of quotes and proposals.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks and excel in a complex product development environment with competing priorities.
- Resolve intricate manufacturing challenges and troubleshoot production systems.
- Possess an understanding of Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, Configuration Control, and ERP systems.
- Negotiate contracts and amendments to ensure legal compliance and safeguard the organization's interests.
- Collaborate across various organizational levels.
- Define and document project deliverables and the tasks necessary to meet client specifications while identifying all associated risks.
- Review development, engineering, and manufacturing plans to ensure cross-functional integration and alignment.
- Identify and communicate to management the team, equipment, and capabilities required to fulfill program deliverables, including any necessary external resources.
- Lead the team throughout the project lifecycle through proactive communication internally and externally.
- Apply technical and functional expertise along with leadership skills and project management diligence, maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality and the evolution of our offerings.
- Understand manufacturing and precision machining tolerances.
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and detailed specifications, including GD&T.
- Review client specification documents referenced in the drawings and research them for appropriate execution throughout the project.
- Collaborate with various departments, including sales, customer service, production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in bidding and execution processes.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional attention to detail and reading comprehension to accurately translate specifications, client contracts, and internal requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple priorities and tasks concurrently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with logic-linked scheduling, cost account management, and budget oversight.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably Engineering.
- 3+ years of technical experience in a related discipline.
- Preferred experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce CRM, and Syteline ERP is preferred.
- Proficient in using CAD systems or viewers such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and NX to analyze CAD models and associated annotations.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Innovative thinker focused on continuous improvement.
- Effective team player who can lead or follow as necessary.
- Clear communicator, both written and oral.
