What You Will Do:

This role will be filled at either the Logistics Operations Coordinator 2 or 3 level, contingent upon the qualifications of the chosen candidate. Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the level of expertise.

LOG-DIV is a division within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Facilities and Operations, dedicated to providing skilled Craftworkers and Maintenance Superintendents at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Training Services Group within Logistics is tasked with delivering training on various subjects to fulfill the needs of the Logistics Division and comply with regulatory standards. This position is based in Los Alamos and requires onsite presence.

Logistics Operations Coordinator 2 ($76,900-$122,200):

The Logistics Operations Coordinator 2 will oversee maintenance and facility-related issues for leased properties. Preferred qualifications include custodian training, familiarity with Facility Service Requests, and Badge Reader custodianship. Attention to detail and the ability to exercise independent judgment in decision-making are essential. The role often requires self-direction.

Responsibilities include conducting routine facility inspections, procedure assessments, and evaluations to ensure the safe and effective operation of the facility. The Coordinator will also assist in periodic reviews to confirm that systems are functioning correctly and maintained within required parameters.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work semi-autonomously in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and collaborate effectively with customers and subject matter experts within LOG. A self-motivated, innovative problem solver who can devise solutions to complex challenges is crucial.

Logistics Operations Coordinator 3 ($83,900-$136,600):

In addition to the responsibilities of the Coordinator 2, the Coordinator 3 will possess teaching experience and may lead courses on various topics, including program development, implementation, and evaluation. A robust background in classroom and field training across all training phases is required, including the creation of diverse training materials and conducting presentations.

Additional training responsibilities may be assigned.

Knowledge and Expertise:
Experience in addressing building deficiencies and ensuring the safe and efficient management of facility operations. Proficiency in conducting routine facility inspections, procedure reviews, and equipment evaluations is necessary.

Communication Skills, Team Dynamics, and Customer Service:
Demonstrated ability in both written and verbal communication tailored to various audiences. Proven excellence in developing instructional materials and presentations. Capability to effectively transfer knowledge to both technical and non-technical personnel and collaborate with key stakeholders.

Performance:
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment. Experience in classroom instruction is essential.

Accountability:
Experience in handling confidential or sensitive information, with a solid understanding of safety and security protocols.

Additional Job Requirements for Logistics Operations Coordinator 3:
  • Proven ability in project and program planning, organization, scheduling, and management.
  • Experience in conducting needs analysis and documenting results.
  • Expertise in training evaluations and program assessments.
  • Familiarity with analytical and problem-solving techniques.
Education/Experience:

Logistics Operations Coordinator 2: Requires an Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Logistics Operations Coordinator 3: Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Postgraduate coursework may be advantageous.

Desired Qualifications:

LANL:
Familiarity with Laboratory policies regarding the key custodian program and training protocols.

Learning Management Systems & Business Systems:
Working knowledge of LANL's learning management system or similar IT training systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in creating complex documents and presentations.

Desired Qualifications for Logistics Operations Coordinator 3:
  • Qualified under the Laboratory's Training Staff Qualification Program.
  • Understanding of Laboratory training policies and DOE regulations.
  • Expertise in regulated training environments and OSHA standards.
  • Possession of a DOE Q-clearance or ability to obtain one.
Work Location: Onsite in Los Alamos, NM.
