Position Summary

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle Management processes, particularly in the areas of claim denials and appeals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate denied claims and determine the most effective strategy for appeal or resubmission.
  • Prepare and submit precise and compliant appeals for denied claims.
  • Work collaboratively with billing, coding, and clinical teams to collect necessary information for appeals and resolve denial issues promptly.
  • Maintain thorough records of denial cases, including appeals submitted and communications with insurance representatives.
  • Track the status of appealed claims and follow up with insurance representatives to ensure timely resolution.
  • Generate and analyze reports on denial trends, identify underlying causes, and suggest process enhancements.
QualificationsRequired Education, Licensure, Certifications, & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in claims processing and denial management.
  • At least 1 year of current experience with the EPIC system.
  • Recent experience utilizing the EPIC EMR system.
Required Skills
  • Ability to analyze denial reasons, identify patterns, and develop strategies to reduce denials.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and insurance representatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and submission of appeals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of billing regulations, coverage guidelines, and the appeals process.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying of supplies and paperwork weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling to move supplies and equipment.

  • Occasional reaching/handling/fingering to complete paperwork, use computers, file, and answer telephones.
  • Frequent talking/hearing/seeing to interact with staff and clients to complete assigned tasks.
