Job Overview

Position: Construction Manager – Mechanical

This role involves the successful candidate overseeing and managing all aspects of industrial construction projects from inception to completion. The Construction Manager will collaborate with clients, design consultants, subcontractors, and engineers to facilitate informed decision-making for the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all projects are executed and documented in alignment with contract specifications and established engineering standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project cost controls, budget tracking, and accounting records, including change order estimations and negotiations.
  • Coordinate and monitor updates to project schedules, staffing requirements, invoices, and submissions while regularly communicating project progress.
  • Lead and inspire subcontractors and team members involved in planning and executing work procedures, while managing job site operations.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to address and resolve issues related to work procedures, construction challenges, or design conflicts.
  • Uphold safety standards and regulations on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety codes during construction activities.
  • Work effectively with others to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial construction projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing clients across diverse environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, with the ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with civil/site work, including concrete, steel, building envelope, and MEP systems.
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A commitment to actively participating in a collaborative work culture and a tolerance for ambiguity.
Supervisory Role

This position entails overseeing and coordinating the activities of general contractors on-site, along with managing performance metrics for the job site.

Work Environment

The employee will frequently inspect projects and may encounter ongoing construction activities and varying weather conditions. Noise levels in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Engage in sitting, talking, and listening activities.
  • Utilize hands for handling and manipulating objects.
  • Occasionally reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Demonstrate specific vision capabilities, including close vision and color perception.
Position Type and Work Hours

This is a full-time role with hours that vary by project. Some flexibility may be available, but extended hours may be required.

Travel Requirements

Travel is primarily local during business hours, with potential out-of-state travel for project coordination. Short-term relocation may be necessary based on project demands.
