Job Overview

Position: Construction Manager – Mechanical

As a key player in our organization, the Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing industrial construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires collaboration with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and engineers to facilitate informed decision-making on behalf of the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all projects are executed and documented in alignment with contractual obligations and established engineering standards.
  • Develop and uphold project financial controls, including budget management and accounting records, while assisting in change order evaluations and negotiations.
  • Coordinate and track project schedules, staffing requirements, invoices, and submissions, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Lead and inspire subcontractors and team members engaged in planning and executing work procedures, while managing jobsite office operations.
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to address and resolve issues related to work procedures, construction, or design challenges.
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols and guidelines on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Foster effective collaboration to deliver high-quality outcomes within the stipulated timeline and budget.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial construction projects, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Experience working with manufacturing clients across diverse environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, with the ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of civil/site work including concrete, steel, building envelope, and MEP systems.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A commitment to actively participate in our collaborative company culture, with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
Supervisory Role

This position entails overseeing and coordinating the activities of general contractors on-site for assigned projects, with a focus on performance management.

Work Environment

The role involves frequent site inspections, exposing the employee to ongoing construction activities and varying weather conditions. The noise level may range from moderate to loud.

Physical Requirements

Regular tasks include sitting, talking, and listening, with frequent use of hands for handling and manipulating objects. Occasional requirements include reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, with the ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision capabilities include close vision and color vision.

Position Type and Work Hours

This is a full-time role, with work hours varying by project. Flexibility may be available, but long hours may be necessary.

Travel Requirements

Local travel is primarily expected during business hours, with potential out-of-state travel for project coordination. Short-term relocation may be required based on project needs.
