Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Scheduling and Management: Assist in the preparation of work schedules for all nursing personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels and optimal resource allocation.
  • Patient Care and Quality Assurance: Visit patients to ensure maximum care and communicate with staff and physicians about daily nursing operations, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Nursing Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise and direct nursing personnel, assigning duties and evaluating work performance to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance and Infection Control: Monitor the Quality Assurance Program and serve as the Infection Control Nurse, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  • Disciplinary Actions and Performance Management: Handle disciplinary problems involving nursing personnel, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education and Licensure: Registered Nurse with a current and valid RN license in North Carolina.
  • Experience: Two years of experience, with a preference for at least one year of experience in skilled nursing.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to make decisions regarding nursing and unit problems, supervise nursing staff, and communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and patients.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to work well under pressure, problem-solve, and perform various jobs, with a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
