Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nursing Assistant II to join our team at the Public School of North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor students' medical status during the school day and provide medical procedures as ordered by a physician.
  • Provide and assist with students' personal hygiene needs during the school day.
  • Notify the Health Services Director or Health Services Lead Nurse of changes in student's health status.
  • Document actions in ezEdMed.
  • Provide adjunct care by administering non-sterile dressing, and ice packs and applying appropriate restraints for wheelchair and stander.
  • Communicate student health-related concerns immediately to the Health Services Director or Health Services Lead Nurse.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional development, and maintaining licensure.
  • Serve as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, Certificate of Completion from Accredited CNA II Program and Registered with NC Board of Nursing.
  • Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Physical Requirements
  • Possess the visual acuity to work with data and figures, operate a computer, do extensive reading and prepare and present written and oral reports and statistical data.
  • Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, talking, seeing, hearing and repetitive motion.
