Job Overview:

  • Develop and implement outreach initiatives that ensure all families feel valued and encouraged to participate in various levels of engagement.
  • Act as a bridge for communication between families and educational staff, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with school personnel to foster a welcoming environment across the educational campus.
  • Establish and manage a dedicated space for families to access information regarding engagement opportunities within the school and community.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders, including families, educators, counselors, and community organizations, to enhance collaboration.
  • Serve as a point of contact between local/state agencies, educational institutions, and families, ensuring transparent communication.
  • Prepare and distribute informational materials that promote available programs and services to students, parents, and educational staff.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions with parents, students, and agency representatives to promote effective communication.
  • Organize and lead various workshops, presentations, and events aimed at building partnerships between families and schools.
  • Provide families with insights into student expectations and available programs, assisting them in accessing community resources and enrichment activities.
  • Plan and implement programs and services that meet the needs of families and students.
  • Develop referral systems to ensure a comprehensive range of services is available.
  • Coordinate support services for students and families, ensuring alignment with related programs.
  • Participate as a member of a family support team to enhance service delivery at schools.
  • Utilize district resources to maintain effective communication with families.
  • Conduct home visits as necessary, documenting and referring as appropriate.
  • Arrange transportation for families and students when required.
  • Provide translation services for bilingual and monolingual families as needed.
  • Assist families and students with the application process, ensuring a smooth experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Support school communities in assessing and evaluating necessary services.
  • Manage financial records in accordance with district and grant guidelines.
  • Maintain a database with client information and relevant data.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for confidential files and generate reports as needed.
  • Collaborate as part of a cluster support team.
  • Document all correspondence and complete necessary paperwork for program operations.
  • Facilitate activities aimed at enhancing students' educational, vocational, psychological, social, and independent living skills.
  • Assist students in connecting with appropriate adult agency resources.
  • Act as the primary contact for student programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt, organize, and solve problems effectively.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations both in-person and via phone.
  • Familiarity with community resources, computer systems, and legal requirements.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of district policies regarding health and safety.
  • Advocacy skills for student needs and program implementation.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and conducting assessments.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Engagement in ongoing professional development within the department.
  • Valid driver's license and liability insurance.
  • Licensure as required by state regulations.
