Overview

Achieve exceptional outcomes in the capture and closure of Group and Event leads. Oversee catering and group accounts to ensure guest satisfaction while actively pursuing both new and existing business to meet or surpass all revenue objectives. Responsible for generating new catering and group sales accounts and nurturing relationships with current clients to exceed revenue targets in food, beverage, and venue rental sectors. Manage upcoming groups and events, addressing client needs through proactive communication, meticulous planning, and effective team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding service for all events and serve as the primary contact for all functions at the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to inbound lead inquiries as directed by the sales leader and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Engage in outreach to new and existing accounts to achieve and surpass revenue targets through telephone outreach, in-person sales visits, site tours, and written correspondence.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals for lead closure and transactions.
  • Manage the lead process from initial contact through proposal and closure stages.
  • Participate in market research to analyze competitors' offerings, pricing, and services to inform strategic business planning.
  • Maximize revenue by promoting all aspects of the hotel to past, present, and prospective clients, including room rentals, audiovisual services, and other revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Engage in sales blitzes to drive new business.
  • Consistently secure and re-book repeat business by maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Provide comprehensive direction, coordination, and ongoing assessment of operations, ensuring detailed execution of all banquet event orders for groups and catering events.
  • Possess excellent computer skills, particularly in Delphi, Word, and Excel.
  • Monitor group room blocks and pick-up rates, generating detailed resumes for operational departments.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in catering sales, is essential.
  • A minimum of 1 year in catering sales or convention services is required.
  • A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, revenue management, and the ability to train and motivate peers.
  • Familiarity with hotel features, benefits, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to implement effective action plans.
  • Understanding of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, safety protocols, personnel management, business planning, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-term planning.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style for various audiences.
