Process Team Leader

Job Summary: This role is responsible for overseeing and guiding Process Operators in all facets of ethanol and co-products production, with a focus on achieving optimal efficiency in plant operations. The position requires collaboration with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of production methodologies, including the capability to independently initiate and conclude plant operations.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of process equipment and the necessary actions to take in the event of equipment malfunctions.
  • Organize, supervise, and evaluate the daily activities of the production team.
  • Conduct audits of procedures and daily crew operations, reviewing logs, inventory, and reports.
  • Facilitate effective shift transitions by ensuring all pertinent information is communicated to the incoming Team Leader.
  • Document production data, shift reports, and downtime analyses.
  • Train production staff on both new and existing protocols, providing updates on changes and making training recommendations to the Operations Manager.
  • Utilize mechanical skills to assist in troubleshooting repairs.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule necessary projects.
  • Initiate work requests in the CMMS software as needed.
  • Document any incidents or injuries, following proper reporting procedures.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean work environment through routine housekeeping duties.
  • Engage in safety, health, environmental, and ongoing training programs.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; further education is preferred.
  • Experience in production or operations is essential; background in ethanol production is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, with an ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate a sense of urgency when necessary.
  • Proven capability to supervise others and monitor workflow.
  • Exhibit high standards to achieve the Company’s objectives.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and asset management systems (e.g., Maximo) is preferred.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to work overtime and adhere to a 12-hour shift schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Physical requirements include frequent sitting, computer use, and telephone use.
  • Must manage confined space entry, climb ladders, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heights.
  • Regular exposure to mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, outdoor weather, and chemicals used in the production process.
