Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The role involves operating and maintaining the machinery and equipment essential for the loading and unloading of ethanol, as well as wet and dry distillers grains and corn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming grain to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Efficiently load and unload all ethanol and distillers grains by railcar and truck.
- Accurately complete all documentation related to products being shipped from the facility.
- Submit work requests as necessary and maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Monitor the status of all operational equipment.
- Perform maintenance checks on rolling stock, including loaders and track mobile, ensuring fluid levels are adequate and equipment is lubricated and refueled.
- Conduct inspections of loaders and other equipment for defects and document findings.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to report mechanical issues.
- Document any accidents or injuries that occur on site.
- Maintain the facility in a state of readiness for tours and inspections.
- Engage in regular communication with the grain grading and operations departments.
- Participate in safety initiatives and ongoing training programs.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED. A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and basic computer skills are preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to operate utility vehicles and work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong multitasking capabilities. A willingness to learn and uphold the high standards of our company is essential.
Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to manage confined space entry, climb ladders, lift up to 60 lbs, and work at heights. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, outdoor weather in various conditions, and chemicals used in the production process.
