Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This role involves working during the night shift to support the operational activities of the facility. The operator will engage in both floor operations and laboratory tasks, requiring a foundational understanding of industrial plant operations and a strong mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with large-scale equipment in a research and production setting, particularly in sectors such as fuel ethanol, feed milling, and soy processing, is essential. Knowledge of basic analytical techniques and equipment will be advantageous.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the operational functions of ICM Ventures Inc. as directed by the management team.
  2. Utilize and comprehend the plant operations through a Man-Machine Interface (MMI) system.
  3. Collect samples from plant streams to monitor operational conditions.
  4. Make critical observations to enhance, troubleshoot, and modify processes and products effectively.
  5. Maintain accurate records of batch processes, ingredient usage, and inventory levels.
  6. Conduct sampling of process streams for analytical purposes.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members, laboratory technicians, and nutritionists regarding plant operations.
  8. Foster a collaborative environment with operations and other departments.
  9. Engage positively with customers, transportation providers, and the public regarding product transactions.
  10. Document plant records and prepare reports as necessary.
  11. Input data into software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as other company-specific programs.
  12. Adhere to all safety regulations set forth by ICM Ventures Inc. and OSHA.
  13. Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and the plant.
  14. Be open to taking on additional responsibilities as needed to contribute to the growth of ICM Ventures Inc.
  15. Ensure the production of safe animal feed while complying with internal policies and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Completion of specialized training or vocational education is advantageous.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in production or plant operations within the ethanol, enzymes, pharmaceutical, or biochemical industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment used in fermentation pilot and production facilities is beneficial.
  • Experience with plant process control systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires the ability to work a 12-hour night shift and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and humid conditions. The operator must be capable of handling chemicals on-site and be able to stand and walk for extended periods during operations. Proficiency in English communication is necessary.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

This role may require frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
