Job Overview:

Position Summary: The Process Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and guiding Process Operators in all facets of ethanol and co-products production, with a focus on maximizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of production methodologies, including the capability to independently initiate and conclude plant operations.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of all process equipment and the necessary actions to address equipment malfunctions.
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the daily activities of the production team.
  • Conduct audits of procedures and daily crew operations, reviewing logs, inventory records, and monthly reports.
  • Facilitate smooth shift transitions by effectively communicating essential information to the incoming shift Team Leader.
  • Document and provide production data, shift reports, and downtime analyses.
  • Train production staff on both new and existing procedures, updating them on changes and recommending training needs to the Operations Manager.
  • Utilize mechanical skills to assist in troubleshooting repairs.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule necessary projects.
  • Initiate Work Requests in the CMMS software as required.
  • Accurately document any incidents or injuries and complete the necessary reporting procedures.
  • Participate in routine housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean work environment.
  • Engage in safety, health, environmental, and ongoing training programs.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; higher education is preferred.
  • Experience in production or operations is essential; a background in ethanol production is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and demonstrate a sense of urgency when necessary.
  • Proven ability to supervise others and oversee their workflow.
  • Exemplify the high standards necessary to achieve the Company's objectives.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and asset management systems (Maximo) is preferred.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, including FSMA, FRA, TTB, and state and federal regulations.
  • Willingness to work overtime and on a 12-hour shift basis, including weekends and evenings.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Physical demands include frequent sitting, computer use, and telephone communication.
  • Must be capable of managing confined space entry, climbing ladders and steps, lifting up to 60 lbs., and working at heights.
  • Regular exposure to mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, outdoor weather, and chemicals used in the production process.
